Since our first guests arrived in August, 2006 we have received some wonderful comments. We are deeply grateful and would like to share them with you.

Dear Christina,

Thank you for introducing us to the Mountain Glory Farm. When we arrived it was spotlessly clean and it was clear that you had thought out every detail to make our stay pleasant, comfortable and relaxing, just as you had for the Inn On The Harbor.

We delighted in the eclectic furnishings. As we looked at each unique piece, we wondered what the story was behind it and where the heck you got it. Yet everything fit together to give us a feeling of homeyness. I took particular delight in the chaise longue in the bedroom where I could stretch out, enjoy the view of Katahdin, and just plain relax. We took advantage of the coffee table with the lifting top for wine and cheese before supper and enjoy the view of Katahdin. The decorations were very tastefully done reflecting an artistic flair.

Your guest information book showed a penchant for detail to make a whole variety of guests at different seasons see that you cared about their comfort and satisfaction.

The Moose Safari was conducted by Viki Nolan who is a naturalist and professional photographer. She was very knowledgeable and showed us many Moose at fairly close range.

My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Thanks again for giving us the opportunity for a delightful relaxing vacation.

Dear Christina,

I just wanted to let you know that our stay at the Mountain Glory Farm was fantastic! My husband and I were there from Sept. 11th thru Sept. 14th. The North apartment was so clean and comfortable that I could have stayed there indefinitely. I got to see my sister who I hadn't seen for a couple of years since her family moved to Patten from Connecticut. The view was breathtaking and I found it to be so quiet. My husband and I slept well in the king size bed and usually when I'm away from home, I don't sleep as well cause of noise or just not feeling comfortable. I definitely will come back to Patten for another visit and use the Mountain Glory Farm accomodations.

I read the notebook that you left for the visitors and found it to be quite helpful and informative. Just to let you know. My sister bought the farm at the very beginning of Happy Corner Road from the people you wrote about raising horses, dogs and a host of other animals. You might consider at some time updating that part of the history of Happy Corner Road.

Just thought I would let you know how happy and comfortable my husband and I felt at Mountain Glory Farm. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family members. Thank you so much.

Dear Christina Shipps,

My stay in the Mountain Glory Farm North apt. was a BIG ten star plus.

The view of Mt. Katahdin from the upstairs bedroom window was a magnificent slide show of light, color, mood and cloud formation. Thank-you for the front row seat. When the mountain wasn’t visible, the beautiful fields brought comfort and serenity to the scene.

The whole apartment had a sense of inside – outside due to the many well placed windows allowing great views in any direction.

I was looking for a quiet, peaceful get-a-way and Mountain Glory Farm was the end of the rainbow.

Hi Christina, We had a glorious time!!! The house is perfect. We were very comfortable, got a fair bit of sledding in, and lots of reading done. I also cooked up a storm. We made bread, and brownies, and puddings, and cakes, and stew and soups. We had lunch out 3 days at different Camps, while sledding. We had a wonderful dinner at Horn of Plenty, and lunch one day in Ft. Kent. We took advantage of the area. It is a very beautiful part of Maine.We went back to Bolin Camp and up to the “Overlook”. Unbelievable!! All in all it was a wonderful winter vacation!

Mountain Glory was "glorious"!! We had spectacular weather...the farm provided a great location for us to explore Baxter State Park - which we'd never been to. We spent two days hiking in there - once accessing the North entrance - very easily...the other from the South entrance...with a little extra reach.

The farm itself is lovely - accommodations are A+... with its tranquility and spacious layout. We met the friendly cattle across the street and they provided our early morning entertainment through the picture window, as we monitored their movements! We enjoyed reading about the farm's history and your future plans for it.

"Re-entry" back to everyday life is always challenging - and particularly on a rainy Monday morning after such a wonderful 4 days off...I think we're all looking forward to another visit to the farmhouse!

How could you have afforded such a complete and tasteful job of renovating and furnishing Mountain Glory Farm? It was the perfect site for our "second honeymoon" following celebration of our 50th anniversary. We saw a lot of Baxter State Park, gazed at Mt. Katahdin from our bedroom window, hiked through your meadows, met the former owner. and had a very pleasant chat with Mimi. WE hope it will not be long before we can return, and will recommend the farm to many others. My wife, Jan, joins me in thanking you for helping to make our anniversary so special..

This is just a quick note to say how enjoyable I found my stay this past week at Mountain Glory Farm. There is no question that you, Mimi and others have put a tremendous amount of thought and love into the place; it shows. I spent the week recharging my batteries after the usual hectic summer down along the coast and also revisiting many of my old haunts. As Dick may have told you, I led camping groups in the area for many years in the sixties and early seventies; some things have changed but much remains as I remember it.

I found the accommodations well-laid out and very well maintained. I know how much attention to detail goes in to making such a place hospitable and comfortable. You have done a wonderful job. I must say, however, that were I to return (and the idea of a few days during the snow season is attractive) I think I would select the north unit. Mimi was kind enough to show me though it, and the view from the second floor bedroom with the nice easy chair was pretty spectacular.

The loose-leaf booklet with information both about the farm itself and about the surrounding area was excellent; I read it cover to cover.
